How to get to there

Just 25 miles from Central London, getting to Tilbury Cruise Terminal is easy by both car and public transport.

By train: Half-hourly trains from London Fenchurch Street take approximately 35 minutes to the terminal’s closest station, Tilbury Town. The station is less than a mile from the terminal, so from here you can choose to walk, take a taxi or hop on the shuttle provided at peak times.

By bus: From Tilbury Town station you can get the 99 bus to Tilbury Cruise Terminal.

By car: The terminal is just seven miles from Junction 31 of the M25 and is well signposted from there.

Parking:  Long stay parking must be booked in advance. Short stay parking for drop-off and pick-up is located immediately adjacent to the Cruise Terminal.

London Tilbury’s Terminal Facilities

Accessibility – the terminal is a single storey building occupying a level site and is suitable for wheelchair users.

Facilities include a refreshment kiosk selling hot drinks and light snacks and a comfortable passenger lounge with toilet facilities. Smoking is not permitted in the building and passengers are unable to leave the lounge once they have checked in.

Just a short stroll from Tilbury Cruise Terminal, 17^th century Tilbury Fort is the best example of its type in England and is where Queen Elizabeth I amassed her army to face the Armada. There’s plenty to explore on a family day out including the underground bastion magazine passages used to store vast quantities of gunpowder.

Coalhouse Fort & Park – 20 minutes by car
Coalhouse Fort, a Scheduled Ancient Monument, stands within Coalhouse Fort Park, a sprawling wetland parkland that was designated as one of the best open spaces in the country. Located next to the River Thames, the park is a combination of historic features, play zones, saltmarsh and grassland habitat, parkland and wildlife.

Gravesend, Kent – 18 minutes via ferry and on foot
With lots of distinctive villages, areas of outstanding beauty and many film and literary connections, there are many historic and cultural sites to visit in Gravesend. Two of the most famous local names are Pocahontas, who is buried at St George’s Church and Charles Dickens who lived at Gad’s Hill Place. When you’ve had your fill of culture, head to nearby Bluewater Shopping Centre – just a bus ride away – for a little retail therapy.
